As Barmal Bijiril is inspired by, administered by and advised by First Nations people themselves, it is important that as a First Nations owned and controlled organisation that it supports the causes that are important to First Nations Peoples.

There is none more immediately important than the atrocities happening in our youth justice sector. With guidance from our First Nations Advisory board comprised of First Nations people andrepresentative of ACCOs, we are proposing to move beyond short-term accountability measures to channel public action into backing for reforms.

We plan to undertake this project building upon the work already being undertaken and collaborate with campaigns working to reduce First Nations peoples incarceration and co-fund workshops on the needs of the campaigns to further their success.
