


The Blak Loungeroom Philanthropic Conference 2026
7th-9th April 2026, Registrations Open
The Inaugral National Blak Loungeroom Philanthropy Conference is a three-day
national gathering in Melbourne focused on strengthening community,
culture, and impact through Blak-led philanthropy. Bringing together First
Nations leaders, academics, artists, community organisations, philanthropic
foundations, and allies. The Conference creates space to reimagine how
resources, power, and partnerships can better serve Blak communities.
Participants will engage in:
Keynotes and panel discussions led by Blak thinkers, creatives, and
practitioners
Conversations on funding, sovereignty, governance, and long-term
impact
Insights into ethical partnerships, community-driven models, and shared
accountability
Workshopping the potential for a new national voice
Networking in a culturally safe, respectful, and welcoming space
This is an invitation to First Nations leaders, community organisations,
and allies to come together, listen deeply, reflect honestly, and act with
intention.

First Nations Student Bursary
Barmil Bijril Foundation is offering a limited number of spaces for a First Nations University Student, based in Victoria, to attend our Inaugural Blak Loungeroom Conference 2026The Barmal Bijiril BlakLoungeroom Philanthropic Conference is a national gathering of First Nations leaders, community organisations, creatives, academics, and allies. Held over three days in Melbourne, the conference centres Blak leadership andcommunity knowledge, creating a culturally safe space for deep listening, honest dialogue, and shared learning. The Loungeroom invites participants to strengthen relationships, reflect with purpose, and act with intention in support of First Nations communities.

Places are limited, and bursaries will be awarded on a competitive basis.
Applications close on 28th February. Successful applicants will be notified on 3rd March 2026.
